What to Expect
Tampere Airport has two terminals, located separately: Terminal 1 handles traditional airlines and Terminal 2 serves low-cost carriers. Both terminals have basic eating options. Free WiFi helps pass the time.
Where to Sleep
Due to limited operating hours, overnight stays are no possible. For uninterrupted sleep, hotels are nearby. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info.
In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

If sleeping in Tampere Airport does not appeal to you, the nearest hotels are in Tampere city center, about 15 mins northeast of the airport.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport
Tampere Public Transport buses link the airport to Tampere city center via bus route 1. Tokee offers Ryanair bus transfers to/from Tampere railway station. For more information on taking the bus, visit the Tampere Airport website.
The following car rental agencies are available onsite in Terminal 1 (Arrivals): Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Scandia Rent and Sixt.
Taxis are readily available outside of airport terminals T1 and T2.
