What to Expect

Facilities include a landside cafe, an airside cafe/bar, and a few newsstands. Free WiFi is available to help pass the time. For added comfort while you wait, economy class passengers can pay to enter an airport lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

Sleeping in Teesside Airport

The airport closes nightly from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM, so staying the night is impossible. For uninterrupted sleep, hotels are nearby. See the Airport Hotels section below for more info, or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Disabled Services – Wheelchairs are available, lifts and ramps operate between floors, and accessible toilets are located throughout. Additional support services are available and can be organized with your airline, tour operator or at the airport directly.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Arriva North East Bus 12 serves six times daily – two before 9:00 AM and four from 3:35 PM onwards. The bus runs from Hurworth through Darlington town centre, and Morton Park and Middleton St George to the terminal building. Car Rentals

Enterprise is currently the only on-site car rental agency.

Taxis

Taxis are available 24 hours from a taxi rank outside of Arrivals. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required. 1AB Taxis has a 24-hour booking desk in the main terminal.

Train

Darlington Railway Station, six miles away, is the nearest train station, with service available to and from Durham, York and Newcastle.
