What to Expect

  • The current terminal is very old, though recent construction on a new terminal may be completed soon.
  • WiFi is available. See WiFi information in the airport guide below.
  • Economy class travellers can pay to access one airport lounge. See our Airport Lounges section for locations and rates.

Where to Sleep

  • As of May 2017, we have no reviews from travellers who have attempted to sleep in this airport. Write a review to help future travellers!
  • For uninterrupted sleep, hotels are located about 1 hour from the airport; no shuttle service is available. See our Airport Hotel section below for more info.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Airport Lounges

Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships

Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there is a lounge that you can enter through a lounge membership program (ie. Priority Pass). Visit the individual lounge page for more details about the lounge itself and to also find out how you can gain lounge access with just an economy class ticket!

Airport Hotels

If sleeping in Timehri Airport does not appeal to you, there are no hotels near the airport. These were the closest hotels that we found:

Currency Exchange – Yes.

Duty Free & Shopping – Duty-free shopping is available in the Departures lounge. In order to purchase any duty-free items, you must present your valid airline ticket and passport. We do not currently have any information regarding the availability of other shops.

Food & Drinks – You will find food and drinks available (4 locations) both landside and airside, hours are not known.

Information Desk – Customer service representatives can be found throughout the airport to assist you.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Car Rentals

Several car rental agencies operate at the airport. A temporary driver’s license, obtainable at the Customs Department, is required in order to rent a vehicle.

Shared-Ride Minivans

Ride like the locals do! Shared-ride buses offer economical transportation between the airport and Georgetown, with a cost of around GYD $240 for a ride.


Flat-rate taxis are available for hire in the ground transportation area of the airport.
