What to Expect
- A tiny single-terminal airport with very limited shopping and dining options.
- Airport staff fluent in English and Italian

Where to Sleep
- According to a May 2017 message, there were “no benches or similar in sight to accommodate a tired traveler arriving early.”
- For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. See Airport Hotels in the airport guide below.
In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.
Pay-per-use, Single Visit Passes & Lounge Memberships
Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there is a lounge that you can enter by paying at the door, purchasing a lounge pass or through a lounge membership program (ie. Priority Pass). Visit the individual lounge page for more details about the lounge itself and to also find out how you can gain lounge access with just an economy class ticket!
If sleeping in Trieste Airport does not appeal to you, there are hotels near the airport:

More Services, Facilities & Things To Do On A Layover At The Airport
ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Locations: Landside only.
Currency Exchange – There is a bank located Landside which may provide these services.
Duty Free and & Shopping – Duty Free is available as well as one newsagent shop (Landside).
Food & Drinks – There are no 24-hour food and beverage concessions.Here are the choices available:
» Landside – Gusto Restaurant, 1st Floor (Hours:11:00AM – 3:00PM and 6:00PM – 9:00PM) • Moka Cafe, Viewing Terrace Upper Level (Hours: 5:30AM – last flight).
» Airside – Moka Cafe Gourmet (Hours: 5:30AM – last flight).
» Vending machine offering snacks and drinks (hot and cold) are available both landside and airside.
Information Desk – Location: Ground floor, near the entrance
Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.
Medical Services – There is a First Aid Station located on the Ground Floor, Landside.
Rest Zones – Not available.
Showers – Not available.
Travel Agencies – If you are arriving in Trieste and need local arrangements or help planning a really last minute trip abroad, there is a IATA Air Ticket office that can probably be of assistance.
The airport is open 4:30AM – 11:30PM.
As of March 2018, Trieste airport is served by the following airlines: Alitalia • Lufthansa • Primera Air • Ryanair • Voltea.
Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport
APT Gorizia public buses 1 and 26 link the airport to Grado, Monfalcone and Gorizia. APT Gorizia public bus 51 links the airport to Monfalcone, Trieste and Udine. Tickets are sold at coach station, automated vending machines and Tourist Information centers.
The following car rental agencies are available in the Arrivals Hall: Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Locauto/Enterprise, Maggiore, Sicily by Car/AutoEuropa and Win Rent.
Taxis are readily available outside of the airport terminal daily from 8:00AM – 12:00AM.
