According to a reviewer in April 2019, the airport is closed at night and it is not possible to stay overnight.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport
Car rental services are available in the arrivals hall. At the time of this January 2018 update, no further information is available.
If you’re on a tight budget, there is a bus stand located about a 10-minute walk from the airport terminal. Both public and privately-operated buses offer service to and from Varanasi city center.
Taxis and auto-rickshaws are readily available for hire in the ground transportation area of the airport.
