Where to Sleep

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Airport Hours

The airport is open 5:30AM – 6:00PM (Sun – Fri) • 6:00AM – 5:30PM (Sat). It is not possible to sleep in the airport overnight.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Whangarei Airport is linked to Whangarei CBD via CityLink bus, which stops right outside of the airport terminal.

Car Rentals

Avis, Budget, Hertz and Thrifty offer car rental services onsite. Location: next to the Baggage Claim.

Hotel Shuttles

At the time of this update we were able to find only one hotel that provides airport transportation (for a fee): Flames International Hotel.

Taxis and Shuttles

A variety of taxis and shared-ride shuttles are available at the airport during airport hours of operation.
