To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Westchester County White Plains Airport.

What to expect

Westchester County Airport (code: HPN) consist of a small modern three-level terminal with few restaurants and shops. These amenities are primarily located on the landside and close by 9:00PM at night, so plan accordingly. WiFi is available to help pass the time. There are no private lounges at this airport.

white plains airport guideAfter security checkpoints close for the night, all passengers are restricted to the landside areas, and must re-clear security the next day when the checkpoints open. Reviewers have reported that airport staff and security are generally accommodating to overnight sleepers. The third-floor observation deck and surrounding area has been cited as a good place to find restful sleep. For uninterrupted sleep, there are hotels near the airport. ATMs / Cash Machines – Need cash? ATMs are available. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans. Location: Main Terminal, 2nd Floor.

Duty Free & Shopping – The airport gift shop is the only shopping available. Hours: 5:00AM – 8:00PM everyday except Saturdays when it closes at 7:00PM.

Food & Drinks – Food concessions in the airport operate on varying schedules. Dunkin’ Donuts opens at 4:30AM and closes around 9:30PM. At the time of this update, there are no 24-hour dining options.

Luggage Storage & Lockers – Not available.

The airport is open 24 hours.

Keep in mind that TSA, airline check-in and baggage drop hours vary according to the flight schedule. Check these hours with your airline. If you are in the public area of the terminal (landside) you will not be able to get through to the secure area of the terminal (airside) until the morning.

transportationAirport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport

Bus

Bee-Line bus route 12 serves the airport, running daily between the airport and the TransCenter in downtown White Plains. This route offers connections to Purchase College (SUNY), Manhattanville College and MTA-Metro North Railroad (via TransCenter). As of this update, the fare is $2.75.

Car Rentals

The following car rental agencies are located onsite in the Arrivals Hall: Alamo • Avis • Budget • Enterprise • Hertz • National.

Hotel Shuttles

At the time of this update we were able to find only one hotel offering shuttle service: Crowne Plaza White Plains Downtown.

Taxis are available in the ground transportation area during airport hours of operation. All taxis are metered, and reservations are not required.
