""The "Aeroporto Ronchi" in Trieste, Italy certainly inherits a culture which many bus-ports would strive to achieve. The vending machine (singular), metal benches, a departure lounge that promotes a heavy intake of caffeine - how are you suppose to sleep? A desolate place and there's only one reason to go to this airport.....to leave it shortly after. Sure, there's fluent English speaking Italian staff within the complex, and a generally peaceful environment where sleep can be attained if you don't mind waking up looking like a hot cross bun as a consequence of the unergonomic seating design. Also to add to my woes, the broche-roll I purchased for supper contained a ball-bearing which lodged itself in my right molar and .....my gums. I mean honestly ...where did it come from?????? Try getting that past the metal detectors! I also carried a small toy pistol key-ring which managed to amuse the highly trained personnel for a good 45 minutes - of course standard "x-ray" and "sniffer dog" procedures had to be tested on something other than themselves. In summary: skull and crossbones for this one baby! "
