Sleeping in Airports

Airport Adventures: Dallas-Fort Worth Airport

a very kind security guard asked us if we would like some pillows, which we gladly accepted.

A couple of friends and I had to spend the night in the DFW airport and it was honestly one of the best experiences of my life (though i didn’t know it at the time). There are no more outbound flight at around midnight, so there were roughly 5 other passengers in the airport as well. After hanging out and lounging in the uncomfortable seats, a very kind security guard asked us if we would like some pillows, which we gladly accepted. not only did he come back with pillows, he came back with cots and blankets for the three of us. since we are all young women, the guard told us where to find us in case anybody gave us any trouble. fortunately that never happened. after hours of horsing around, my friends and i set our cots up in the corner to try to catch some sleep. we ended up waking up at 10 am, to a very full and very curious airport. not once were we kicked awake by airport employees- many gave us kind looks, as if they could understand the situation we were in. being from new york, i am accustomed to rude employees wherever i go, but employees at DFW really changed my mind. fantastic experience, definitely wouldn’t change it for the world!
