What to Expect

Montego Bay Sangster International Airport consists of a small, single terminal with a dozen or so eateries and a dozen and a half retail stores, almost all of which are located on the airside. The terminal is known for being hot and humid, and operates on “island time,” so expect long, slow check-in and security lines. Stay hydrated and consider wearing light, cool clothing for your trip home. WiFi is available to help pass the time. Additional services and comforts—including showers—can be found through fee-based access to one of the airport’s first class lounges. Montego Bay Airport Information

In this guide we may refer to locations as "landside" and "airside". Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.

Regardless of what class of service you are flying, there are lounges that you can enter by paying at the door, purchasing a lounge pass or through a lounge membership program (ie. Priority Pass).   • ATMs / Cash Machines - Need cash? ATMs are available. Machines are operated by National Commercial Bank • RBTT • Scotiabank. Fees may apply, so be sure to check your bank’s fee schedule and your daily withdrawal limit if you are travelling internationally. You may also want to notify your bank of your travel plans.   • Baby Care Facilities - Baby changing facilities are located in Ticketing and Departure Concourse.
  • Baggage Trolleys - Need a hand with your luggage? Baggage trolleys are available free of charge in the baggage claim hall.
  • Currency Exchange - Global Exchange has four exchange offices in the airport. Locations: in the Immigration Hall, Ground Transportation Hall, Ticketing Hall and Departures area. Hours are in accordance with the airports operating hours.
  • Duty Free & Shopping - Duty-free shopping is available, along with a variety of shops selling souvenirs, local specialties and other items.
  • Food & Drinks - Food concessions in this airport operate with varying schedules, and all are located airside. At the time of this update, there are no 24-hour options. Current dining choices include: Air Margaritaville • Auntie Anne's • Cinnabon • Cricket’s Sports Bar • Dairy Queen • Domino's Pizza • Island Deli • Jamaica Bobsled • Moe’s • Nathan's • Quiznos • Viva Gourmet Market • Wendy's.
  • Information Desks - Visit one of the Information Desks for help with airport related issues. Locations: Departure Ticketing Concourse, Departures Shopping Concourse and Arrivals Public Area (this is the Main desk).
  • Luggage Storage & Lockers - Not available.
  • Luggage Wrapping - Keep your privates private and your valuables valuable with Secure Wrap luggage wrapping. Location: Ground floor check-in.

Hotel Shuttles

Several area resorts offer airport shuttle service as a convenience for their guests. Contact your hotel of choice for shuttle service availability and information.


Taxis are readily available in the ground transportation area of the airport. If you need assistance in hiring a taxi, a service desk is available in the public area of the Arrivals Hall.
