Should a flight be cancelled the normal procedure is to lock the offices and representatives go home leaving 100’s to wonder when the next one will be. – Dande
GOU Airport Overview
To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down about what to expect during your time at Garoua International Airport.
What to Expect
Garoua Airport (code: GOU) consists of a tiny, dated single-terminal served only by a few Camair Co regional flights. Minimal shopping and dining options are available. Older reviews dating back to 2002-2004 suggest travellers to guard against theft and extortion by airport security. One reviewer wrote that cancellation notices, when provided, were written on a chalkboard and that the airport staff just shut down the airport and go home. Whether things have changed since they, we don’t know. Travellers are advised to be assertive when dealing with flight re-booking arrangements. If you are flying to a destination within Cameroon, and your flight has been cancelled, one reviewer suggests booking a ticket with an independent bus company as a reliable alternative to reaching your destination.

We do not yet have any sleep-related airport reviews. Have a backup plan if you’re planning to spend the night. If you’ve visited this airport recently, write a review to help future travellers! In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airside is the secure area of the terminal that you must reach by going through security.
There are no pay-per-use lounges in the airport.
