What to Expect

The small, brand-new terminal at Karratha Airport (code: KTA) serves Perth and Port Hedland flights. Facilities include a few eateries, a couple of shops, and free WiFi. Qantas passengers may have access to its lounge. See Airport Lounges in the guide below for location and access information.

Sleeping in Karratha Airport

Spending the night here is impossible as the airport closes nightly by 9:00 PM Monday through Friday and earlier on the weekends. For uninterrupted sleep, hotels are nearby. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info, or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airport Hours

The airport is open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri) • 5:30 AM – 6:30 PM (Wed) • Closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
It is not possible to sleep in the terminal overnight.
