What to Expect

ostend airport guideThe small terminal at Ostend-Bruges Airport (code: OST) primarily handles low-cost routes to leisure destinations. Facilities are limited to a restaurant and a couple of cafes. Free WiFi helps pass the time.

Sleeping in Ostend-Bruges Airport

Overnight stays are impossible as the terminal closes nightly, from 10:00 PM until 7:00 AM. For uninterrupted sleep, hotels are nearby, including one in walking distance. See our Airport Hotels section below for more info, or read some traveller airport reviews for more tips.

In this guide we may refer to locations as “landside” and “airside”. Landside is the public area of the terminal located in the non-secure zone, before security. Airport Hours

The airport is operational 24 hours a day; however, the terminal building is only open and accessible from 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Exceptions are made when earlier or later departures are required, in which case the doors open three hours before departing flights and one hour before arrival flights are due.

Airport Transportation: Getting To/From The Airport


The airport connects passengers to the Ostend Railway Station via Bus no. 6, “Raversijde via Luchthaven.” The bus runs to and from the airport approximately every 10 minutes, with an approximate travel time of 15 minutes. For fare, routes and schedule information, visit the De Lijn website.
