Whether you have a layover, overnight sleepover or you are just quickly passing through, our Oslo Gardermoen Airport Guide is a great place to start planning your visit.  Here, you’ll find information on services and facilities available inside the airport – including details about airport lounges, WiFi, mobile charging points, lockers, 24-hour food options, nearby hotels, and everything in between.

Just as you come off the train, to the right there is a large playing [area] for kids, it has a sponge floor which was great to sleep on, ONLY at night, during the day it is full of screaming kids. – NicholaGuy

OSL Airport Overview

To help you plan your layover or overnight sleepover, here is a quick run-down of what travellers have reported to us during their time at Oslo Gardermoen Airport (Code: OSL).

What to Expect

A clean, quiet, modern building (the airport underwent a major expansion in 2017) with some decent seating. One terminal houses Domestic and International flights via separate piers. WiFi is available to help pass the time. Economy class travellers can buy a pass to the airport lounge.

Sleeping in Oslo Gardermoen Airport

Sleeping at Oslo Gardermoen Airport is generally manageable, with padded benches, armrest-free seating and quieter areas available, particularly after security. The main catch is overnight access: security closes after the last departure and reopens around 4:00 AM, so travellers starting their journey at OSL should expect to sleep landside, where comfortable seating is more limited and good spots can fill early. Some connecting passengers already airside have been able to remain there overnight, although transfer arrangements can affect access. For detailed sleeping locations, conditions, photos and traveller tips, see our Guide to Sleeping in Oslo Gardermoen Airport or read the latest traveller reviews.

For uninterrupted sleep, two hotels are connected to the terminal and other nearby hotels that provide an airport shuttle. See the Airport Hotels section below for locations.

Airport Hours

The airport is open 24 hours, landside and airside. Security checkpoints open continuously to support flight schedules. Non-ticketed individuals may be asked to leave overnight (approx. midnight–4:00 AM).

Rest & Relaxation Zones

Aside from a designated quiet room (Stillerom) near Gate A10 (airside), Oslo Gardermoen does not have formal rest or relaxation zones. Travellers looking to rest will need to rely on informal seating, such as padded benches found in both landside and airside areas. If this information has changed, click here to update the guide.
