Cathay Pacific’s First Class Lounge Features ‘Cabanas’ and Champagne Bar

Cathay Pacific Airlines recently re-opened The Wing, the carrier’s flagship first class lounge at Hong Kong International Airport, after an extensive renovation.

Among the upgrades, passengers will now find five private “cabanas”, each with a spacious shower, bathtub, and day bed.

There is also a new Champagne Bar, where passengers will be greeted with a welcome glass of bubbly upon arrival at the lounge. The bar offers free flowing champagne selections throughout the day.

Other lounge facilities include 12 luxurious shower rooms, a full-service bar, buffet dining area and a seating lounge area with views of the runway.

Unfortunately, this is not one of the pay-in lounges that us lowly economy class travellers can buy our way into. The lounge is only open to First Class passengers, Diamond Marco Polo Club members and Emerald oneworld members.  Boo!

I’m pretty confident that I’ll never have enough points to gain access.  However, chances are that I’ll be dreaming about this cabana sanctuary when I am taking a transit nap in the terminal’s public rest area.
